Concrete Repairs & Remedial Works

Reliable Concrete Repair Solutions for Long-Term Performance

Concrete damage does not fix itself. Cracks, surface breakdown, moisture issues, and general deterioration can worsen over time, leading to larger repair costs and potential safety concerns.

Austech Cement provides concrete repairs and remedial works across the South Coast, helping restore damaged surfaces, improve durability, and extend the life of your concrete. Based in Batemans Bay and Ulladulla, we work from Sydney down to Eden across residential, commercial, industrial, and strata projects.

Concrete Remedial Works

We assess the condition of the concrete and recommend targeted repair methods to improve durability, safety and long-term performance. Remedial work may include surface preparation, patch repairs, crack treatment, sealing, grinding or other repair methods depending on the issue.

Concrete Crack Repairs

Not all cracks are the same. Some are cosmetic, while others may indicate movement, moisture ingress or structural stress. We assess the type and condition of the crack before recommending a practical repair method.

Concrete grinding

Surface Preparation & Grinding

Concrete grinding and surface preparation may be required before repairs, coatings, sealing or waterproofing systems are applied. This helps create a clean and suitable surface for the next stage of work.

Concrete Sealing & Protection

Concrete sealing can help improve durability, reduce moisture-related deterioration and protect exposed surfaces from ongoing wear. It is often used as part of a broader repair or maintenance approach.

Signs You Need Concrete Repairs

Is Your Concrete Showing Signs of Damage?

Concrete issues often start small but can become more serious if left untreated. It may be time to arrange an inspection if you notice:

Cracks in concrete surfaces

Flaking, chipping or surface breakdown

Rust stains or discolouration

Uneven or worn areas

Exposed aggregate or surface damage

Water ingress or damp areas

Loose, weak or deteriorating concrete

Damage around edges, joints or high-use areas

Why Early Repairs Matter

Fix Concrete Damage Before It Gets Worse

Delaying concrete repairs can allow moisture, movement and surface damage to worsen over time. Early repairs can help reduce long-term costs, improve safety, protect surrounding surfaces and extend the life of the concrete.

In many cases, a targeted repair can prevent a small issue from becoming a larger remedial project. Austech Cement focuses on practical, long-lasting solutions based on the condition of the concrete and the needs of the property.

Our Process

Our Concrete Repair Process

From inspection to repair and protection, we take a practical approach to restoring damaged concrete.

Step 1

Surface Assessment

We inspect the concrete, identify visible damage and consider possible causes such as movement, moisture, impact, age or surface wear.

Step 2

Preparation

The damaged area is prepared for repair. This may include cleaning, grinding, removing loose material, crack preparation or preparing the surface for sealing or coating.

Step 3

Repair Method

We apply a suitable repair method based on the condition of the concrete, the location of the damage and the needs of the property.

Step 4

Finish & Protection

Where required, we finish the repair and may recommend sealing or surface protection to help improve durability and reduce future deterioration.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about concrete repairs, remedial work and damaged concrete surfaces.

  • What is concrete repair?

Concrete repair involves restoring cracked, damaged, worn or deteriorating concrete so the surface is safer, stronger and more functional. Depending on the issue, this may include crack repairs, patch repairs, surface preparation, grinding, sealing, coating or remedial repair work.

  • What is remedial concrete work?

Remedial concrete work focuses on repairing, restoring or protecting damaged concrete surfaces and structures. It may involve addressing cracks, surface breakdown, spalling, exposed reinforcement, water damage, movement-related issues or deterioration caused by age, weather and heavy use.

  • When do you need concrete repairs?

Concrete repairs may be needed when you notice cracking, surface wear, uneven areas, broken edges, loose concrete, rust staining, exposed reinforcement, water damage or concrete breaking away. Early repairs can help prevent further deterioration and reduce the risk of more extensive remedial work later.

  • Can damaged concrete be repaired instead of replaced?

Yes, damaged concrete can often be repaired instead of fully replaced, depending on the cause and extent of the damage. Austech Cement can assess the surface and recommend whether concrete repair, patching, grinding, sealing, resurfacing or another remedial solution is suitable.

  • What causes concrete to deteriorate?

Concrete can deteriorate due to moisture, weather exposure, salt air, movement, heavy traffic, impact damage, poor drainage, ageing materials, failed coatings or corrosion of reinforcement. Coastal properties, strata buildings, car parks, balconies, driveways and exposed concrete areas are often more vulnerable.

  • Are cracks in concrete always serious?

Not all concrete cracks are serious, but they should still be assessed. Some cracks are cosmetic, while others may indicate movement, moisture issues, structural stress or deterioration beneath the surface. Austech Cement can inspect the area and recommend the most practical repair approach.

  • Do you repair concrete cracks?

Yes. Austech Cement provides concrete crack repair solutions for residential, commercial, strata and remedial projects. The repair method depends on the type of crack, the cause of the movement, the surface condition and whether the area needs additional protection such as sealing or coating.

  • Do you provide concrete grinding?

Yes. Austech Cement can assist with concrete grinding and surface preparation where required as part of a repair, remedial or coating project. Grinding may be used to remove uneven areas, prepare the surface, improve adhesion or help achieve a cleaner finish.

  • Do you provide concrete sealing?

Yes. Austech Cement provides concrete sealing and surface protection solutions for suitable concrete areas. Concrete sealing can help protect surfaces from moisture, staining, wear and weather exposure, depending on the surface and project requirements.

  • How do I request a concrete repair quote and what areas do you service?

You can request a quote by contacting Austech Cement or submitting an enquiry through the website. If possible, include photos of the damaged concrete, cracks, surface wear or affected area so our team can better understand the work required. Austech Cement provides concrete repair and remedial work services from Sydney to Eden, with locations in Batemans Bay and Ulladulla on the NSW South Coast. We work across Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Moruya, Narooma, Bega, Merimbula, Eden and surrounding areas. Project timeframes depend on the size of the area, type of damage, site access, preparation requirements and repair method needed.

  • How do I start a project with Viking Hotrods?

The best place to start is a conversation. Tell us about your car, what you’re thinking and where you want to take it. We’ll give you honest advice on the most practical next step, whether it’s servicing, repairs, diagnostics, restoration support or a larger custom build.

  • What types of cars does Viking Hotrods work on?

Viking Hotrods works on pre-1990 vehicles, including hot rods, classic cars, muscle cars, customs, restomods and older project vehicles. We focus on cars that need experienced hands, practical workshop knowledge and respect for the way older vehicles are built.

  • Where is Viking Hotrods based?

Viking Hotrods is based in Bomaderry on the South Coast of NSW. We work with local car owners as well as clients from across NSW and Australia who are looking for a workshop that understands pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods.

  • Do you only work with local clients?

No. While our workshop is based in Bomaderry, we work with vehicle owners from the South Coast, greater NSW and other parts of Australia. Many owners are willing to travel for the right hot rod, classic car or muscle car workshop.

  • Can you assess my vehicle remotely?

Yes. Remote assessments can be arranged for suitable enquiries, especially for owners outside the local area who want initial guidance before bringing the vehicle to the workshop. Transport can also be arranged through preferred tow partners where needed.

  • What if my car is not running or registered?

Non-running and unregistered project vehicles are welcome. Viking Hotrods works with many cars at different stages of restoration, repair and rebuild. If the vehicle needs transport to the workshop, we can help discuss the best way to get it here safely.

  • Do you do small jobs, or only full builds?

Viking Hotrods handles both smaller workshop jobs and larger builds. That includes servicing, diagnostics, mechanical repairs, body and panel work, upgrades, restoration support, restomods and custom projects.

  • Do you offer body, paint and panel work?
