Cement Rendering

Cement rendering involves applying a cement-based layer to suitable surfaces such as brick, concrete or blockwork. It can create a smooth or textured finish while adding an additional protective layer to the wall. Cement rendering is commonly used for homes, commercial properties, boundary walls, outdoor areas and building upgrades.

Blueboard rendering clean exterior finish

 Blueboard Rendering

Blueboard is often used in modern construction as an external cladding surface designed to be rendered over. Austech Cement can assist with blueboard rendering for new builds, renovations, extensions and lightweight wall systems, helping create a clean, consistent and durable exterior finish.

Texture Coatings job in progress

Texture Coatings

Texture coatings provide a decorative and protective finish over rendered or prepared surfaces. They help create a uniform appearance while offering protection against weather exposure, surface wear and minor imperfections. Texture coatings are a popular option for residential, commercial and strata properties where a modern, low-maintenance finish is required.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about our rendering, concrete repair, remedial and waterproofing services.

  • What is cement rendering?

Cement rendering is the process of applying a cement-based coating to surfaces such as brick, concrete or blockwork. It creates a smooth or textured finish while adding a protective layer that improves the surface's durability and appearance.

  • What is the difference between rendering and texture coating?

Rendering is usually the base layer applied to the wall to create strength, shape and surface consistency. Texture coating is the finishing layer applied over a rendered or prepared surface to provide the final appearance and added weather protection.

  • Do you provide blueboard rendering?

Yes. Austech Cement provides blueboard rendering for suitable external cladding systems, including new builds, renovations, extensions and modern lightweight wall systems.

  • Is texture coating waterproof?

Texture coatings can provide water resistance and help protect surfaces from weather exposure, but they are not the same as a complete waterproofing system. Areas exposed to high moisture may require a dedicated waterproofing solution.

  • Can rendering help protect my property?

Yes. Rendering and surface coatings can help protect external surfaces from weather, moisture and environmental wear. They can also reduce surface deterioration and help extend the life of the wall when applied correctly.

  • Can rendering fix cracked or damaged walls?

Rendering can improve the appearance of minor surface imperfections, but underlying cracks, movement or structural issues should be assessed and repaired first. Proper preparation helps ensure the finished surface lasts and performs as intended.

  • What finishes can I choose from?

Depending on the surface and project requirements, you may be able to choose from smooth and textured finishes, coloured coatings, and various surface effects. Let's discuss the best option for your property.

  • How long does rendering take?

The timeframe depends on the size of the project, the condition of the surface, preparation requirements and the type of finish being applied. Smaller projects may take a few days, while larger or more complex projects can take longer.

  • Do rendered surfaces require maintenance?

Rendered and coated surfaces are generally low maintenance, but occasional cleaning and inspections can help keep them looking good and performing well over time.

  • What areas do you service?

Austech Cement provides rendering and texture coating services from Sydney to Eden, with locations in Batemans Bay and Ulladulla on the NSW South Coast. We work across Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Moruya, Narooma, Bega, Merimbula, Eden and surrounding areas.

  • How do I start a project with Viking Hotrods?

The best place to start is a conversation. Tell us about your car, what you’re thinking and where you want to take it. We’ll give you honest advice on the most practical next step, whether it’s servicing, repairs, diagnostics, restoration support or a larger custom build.

  • What types of cars does Viking Hotrods work on?

Viking Hotrods works on pre-1990 vehicles, including hot rods, classic cars, muscle cars, customs, restomods and older project vehicles. We focus on cars that need experienced hands, practical workshop knowledge and respect for the way older vehicles are built.

  • Where is Viking Hotrods based?

Viking Hotrods is based in Bomaderry on the South Coast of NSW. We work with local car owners as well as clients from across NSW and Australia who are looking for a workshop that understands pre-1990 classics, muscle cars and hot rods.

  • Do you only work with local clients?

No. While our workshop is based in Bomaderry, we work with vehicle owners from the South Coast, greater NSW and other parts of Australia. Many owners are willing to travel for the right hot rod, classic car or muscle car workshop.

  • Can you assess my vehicle remotely?

Yes. Remote assessments can be arranged for suitable enquiries, especially for owners outside the local area who want initial guidance before bringing the vehicle to the workshop. Transport can also be arranged through preferred tow partners where needed.

  • What if my car is not running or registered?

Non-running and unregistered project vehicles are welcome. Viking Hotrods works with many cars at different stages of restoration, repair and rebuild. If the vehicle needs transport to the workshop, we can help discuss the best way to get it here safely.

  • Do you do small jobs, or only full builds?

Viking Hotrods handles both smaller workshop jobs and larger builds. That includes servicing, diagnostics, mechanical repairs, body and panel work, upgrades, restoration support, restomods and custom projects.

  • Do you offer body, paint and panel work?

Yes. Viking Hotrods offers body, paint and panel work for pre-1990 vehicles, including rust repairs, panel repairs, fabrication, paint support and bodywork for hot rods, classic cars and muscle cars.
